1. The service
The site provides a free, browser-based tool for generating black and dark backgrounds, plus topic pages on related design questions. The generator runs entirely on your device. There are no accounts, no uploads, no subscriptions, and nothing to install.
2. Acceptable use
You may use the site for lawful personal and commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- Use automated tools to make unreasonable numbers of requests in a way that degrades the service for others.
- Use the site to host, display or distribute content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory or designed to harass others.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its hosting, or related accounts.
- Misrepresent the site, its operator or any relationship to it.
3. Ownership of generated backgrounds
Backgrounds rendered by the generator and CSS produced by the tool are yours to use, including for commercial work. Attribution is appreciated but not required. The site operator does not claim copyright in the specific outputs you produce with the tool.
4. Site content and code
The text on this site, the layout, the source code of the generator and the topic pages remain the property of the site operator unless otherwise marked, and are made available for personal use of the site. The MIT-licensed or open-source dependencies referenced from the source code are governed by their own licences. Reproducing the topic pages verbatim on other sites is not permitted; quoting short passages with a link back is fine.
5. Third-party services
The site uses third-party services to operate, including hosting, Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Their respective terms and privacy policies apply to the data they receive. See the privacy policy and cookie policy for details.
6. Service availability
The service is provided on an "as available" basis. There is no guaranteed uptime, no service-level agreement, and no obligation to maintain backwards compatibility for URL slugs, control names or export formats. Features may be added, changed or removed without notice.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The site and the generator are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the site operator disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The site does not warrant that the generator will meet your requirements, that results will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the site operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold the site operator harmless from any claim arising from your misuse of the site or your violation of these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last reviewed on" date below. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with a change, stop using the site.
11. Termination
The site operator may restrict or remove access for users who violate these terms. You may stop using the site at any time; nothing needs to be cancelled because there are no accounts.
12. Governing law
